The Pixie, Sheb (3D)

Its 8 am and after 2 days and nights of continous working i finallly managed to get this little picture done!! Arrr. I started this model ages ago, maybe 2 years and decided it would be a nice character for the coming expose .
Even if my zip stays rotting on that ftp i finally got something done!! This is my first post ever in this section of cgtalk - normally i only start projects but never end them
So thats jolly good, im pretty lightheaded now, need sleep but gotta go to work in a few hours. NOO! The pixie is pretty much inspired by the awesome Brian Froud, modelled in max ( i did some detailingwork in zbrush) and textured in ps. Its not as perfect as i liked it to be in places but the time is up today! so - thats all, Im dead. Bye.

Elf Girl

Another year, another elf!!
Without deadlines i just cant get anything done so I decided to do try to get into the exotique book and at the same time finsih off a really old character!
I used mainly xsi for the modelling (or rather sculpting), for the building i still use 3dsmax. I did some very few details in zbrush, mainly mouth and eyes. All the shading and texturing i did in max/photoshop and rendering in mentalray.
The hair is ornatrix - the REAL reason was to play around with this great plugin. Sculpting is a hell lot of fun but the rendering is painful! Finally i can appreciate our poor hairartists work properly.. . I tried all the shaders and mentalray approach and ended up using the expensive one. Im not totally satisfied with the result there but looking forward to investigate more!
Anyway! Its not perfect but im pretty very tired right now!
Hope you like,
Lots of thanks also to mr subdivme, Allessandro Bonora and MArtin K for invaluable help!

Mr. Miserable

Hello everybody!!
This is a character i modelled for John Lee for his shortfilm (i hope it will be finished sometime!) after a concept by Mr. Francis Pang.
The basemodel was done in 3dsmax and the rather subtle details in Zbrush. Also the "texturing" (or rather coloring) was done there too. For the image i wanted to achieve something cartoony with a realistic touch - i hope i succeded. It was a really fun character to make and I hope to see him properly animated someday
Also to shamelessly promote myself even more, I finally finished a new website of mine - (www.sebster.org) . I hope you all enjoy - there will be some more tutorials available soon too.
So thats it again - take it easy all,
